Thanks. I misread all the gfp handling as:
gfp_t gfp = GFP_NOFS | __GFP_NOFAIL;
if (flags & IOMAP_NOWAIT)
gfp |= GFP_NOWAIT;
Which was why my question did not make sense. Sorry about that. :(
